Design LSM brings Riviera to London Docklands

Design LSM is creating a new two-floor Mediterranean restaurant called Riviera, which opens in West India Quay in London Docklands next month.

Located within a Grade 1 listed complex, the new venue will seat 140 people indoors, with space for a further 50 seats outside on a quayside terrace. It is based on the original Riviera restaurant on the South Bank, for which the Brighton design consultancy developed interiors, signage and branding.

Design LSM associate Tim Burford says: “We are designing all the interiors, including an open staircase, double height floor to ceiling paintings by Terence Brett and a large open kitchen area. The brief was to retain the character of the building, but design a Mediterranean restaurant that would fit into it.”

Riviera manager Merete Asmussen adds: “I very much look forward to developing the Riviera concept and concentrating on maintaining the high standards of service and quality that are already firmly established at Riviera on the South Bank. “
