I was most interested to read that designers and clients could learn from Europe (DW Comment 26 April), and am delighted that Ross Lovegrove is so well recognised. In my opinion he is a very good designer.
In regard to Perry King’s comment that UK designers never receive royalties, I thought you would be interested to know that from 1949 onwards, when Leslie and I first met Robin Day, until we sold Hille International (and probably now too), Robin’s remuneration was always on a royalty basis. We both drew great strength from from working so closely together.
