Revelation in chips ready to bite

Waissel’s range of Los Amigos Tortilla chips is due to launch in the UK and across Europe in early June, with packaging developed by Revelation Brand Communication.

The consultancy was briefed to develop packaging that works across the range of flavours and highlights the authenticity of the product, according to Revelation Brand Communication founder Barney Bryant.

‘The product is manufactured in South America so we wanted to get across a quirky, naive, American feel. [The design] is trying to communicate a message of authenticity, we are not trying to compete with the big brands,’ he comments.

‘[Waissel’s] is really proud of the product so we’ve come up with a clear bag that enables [consumers] to see the chips,’ he adds

There are eight varieties in the range and the design also needed to differentiate each flavour.

‘We developed a colour banding system that will communicate the range of different flavours both simply and uniformly,’ says Bryant.

Bryant is the creative lead on the project, which has taken the consultancy almost a year to complete. The consultancy was appointed without a pitch on the strength of previous work for Waissel’s.
