Bishop takes top Metrius role

KPMG Consulting’s new e-business consultancy Metrius Europe has appointed former Icon Medialab creative director Paul Bishop to head its experience and design department.

The creative department currently consists of five of the London group’s 25 staff, but it will expand rapidly next year thanks to the efforts of Bishop – who joined two weeks ago – according to Metrius marketing manager Tania Kelly.

“We have recruited a number of people from a number of new economy groups,” she continues. These include Razorfish, MarchFirst, Viant and Cambridge Technology Partners.

Created as a full-service creative, strategy and technology group, Metrius Europe is headed by chief executive Clive Pinder, formerly director of Viant. The group has also hired Paul Jones of Cambridge Technology partners as its director of technology.

Metrius was formally launched in the UK last week with a corporate identity by London design group The Company.

“My role was finding a marketing and communications company that could work with the original identity designed for our US office,” says Kelly. The original version for the US was designed by US design group Reverb in 1999.
