Skakel & Skakel has designed interiors and a new identity for shoe chain Dune. The consultancy won the job of designing the interiors through referral, while winning a free creative pitch against Ingram and Waugh marketing group to design a new logo and literature.

The format has been unveiled in a new Cambridge store, and will be rolled out to a new Glasgow unit this month. The shoe chain is planning to expand beyond its current seven stores – all in the London area – to around 40 across the UK. “The blue and yellow ‘shifting sands’ identity will appear on both literature and interiors,” says Skakel & Skakel senior director Vaughan Yates.

In store, “stone floors and a modular system create a Mediterranean feel, which reflects the fact that the shoes are primarily from Spain and Italy”, he adds.
