UK consultancies have come out on top at two of this year’s international packaging competitions staged in the US.

Turner Duckworth and Blackburn’s have both scooped Best of Show awards, for their work on soft drink Oasis Revitaliser and Gleneagles Natural Mineral Water (pictured, right) respectively, at the fourth Annual Beverage Packaging Design Competition.

US group Carillon Importers sealed the third Best of Show award for its packaging for the Bombay Sapphire gift box.

At the sixth International Brand Packaging Awards competition, UK groups again scooped two of the three Best of Show awards, with Blackburn’s winning a second honour for Gleneagles water, and Coley Porter Bell cleaning up with Eden water. Landor Associates’ San Francisco office claimed the third Best of Show award for its Gerber baby food packaging.

Among the 15 gold award winners were Davies Hall for its Paradigm logo, Lewis Moberly for its Boots isotonic drink packs and Lloyd Ferguson Hawkins for Merrydown Schloer packaging.

Fitch, Wickens Tutt Southgate, Formation Creative, Pearlfisher and Wagstaffs all came away with silvers.

“Of the dozen or so countries that enter both awards, British consultancies did very well,” says Murray Lubliner, organiser of both competitions.
