Bewley’s, the Irish café company, has appointed Dublin-based branding and design consultancy Bradley McGurk Partnership to develop its retail design for future cafés in the UK, Europe and US.

“We have developed a toolbox of images which will be the brand manual for the future stores,” says Bradley McGurk partner Andrew Bradley. The brand aims to recreate the café society atmosphere that is traditionally associated with Dublin’s social and literary life.

The “toolbox” compiled by Bradley McGurk will contain many of the features of the flagship branch, such as an oriental atmosphere, Art Deco stained glass and a hospitality element.

Interior design group McCab O’Farrell has been appointed to translate the brief and a new prototype café will be opening at Dublin airport in December.
