Suite 3 houses a mix of designs

An interior designer and the owner of Soho’s American Retro shop have joined forces to create a domestic shopping experience to be launched this month.

The brainchild of Julie Thorne, Suite 3 London will be run by Thorne and Sue Tahran, whose Islington house provides the location. The store, situated on the ground floor and basement, will sell a wide range of furniture, art, sculpture, ceramics, jewellery, fashion and accessories.

It will stock a mixture of creations from both established and new designers, including furniture by Jane Atfield and El Ultimo Grito and soft furnishings by Twinset and Claire O’Hea.

“What better place for people to shop for their home than in a home? Our customers will be able to really judge what things look like in their intended environment,” explains Thorne.

Suite 3 London will only open for a few days every quarter, when it will host a themed event. Customers must have invitations for these viewings. The first of these starts on 30 September and will have an “eclectic theme” says Thorne with a “white theme” for the next event in December.

London design group Trigger has created the company’s identity which will be used on literature and promotional material.
