Arad to show in London gallery

Ron Arad will be exhibiting work exclusively at the Timothy Taylor Gallery in coming months.

The gallery in London’s West End has announced a tie-up with Ron Arad Associates to showcase the work of the artist, architect and product designer.

A spokeswoman at Ron Arad Associates confirms that Arad will be designing the gallery’s Frieze Art Fair 2008 stand, which will showcase in October, and will be starting work on the designs in September.

Ron Arad will hold his first exhibition at the gallery in Spring 2009. An exact date has not been scheduled yet, says Timothy Taylor’s director of exhibitions Emma Dexter.

Dexter explains, ‘I have known Ron Arad for 20 years and we started talking about forging this link last autumn.’

Previously senior curator at Tate Modern, Dexter worked on the Tate’s Frieda Kahlo exhibition, Pierre Huyghe show and the 2003 photography exhibition entitled Cruel and Tender.

Arad’s major solo exhibition at the Centre Pompidou, Paris, opens in autumn 2008.
