Interbrand launches retail brand index

Interbrand will launch its index of the top-25 performing European retail brands on Thursday at the second World Retail Congress, which starts in Barcelona tomorrow.



The show will also feature a line-up of high-profile design industry speakers.



The World Retail Awards are taking place tonight, when the ‘top retailer of the year’ will be announced from a shortlist including UK-based retailer Tesco.



The John Lewis Food Hall in London’s Oxford Street, designed by JHP Design, and Fornarina, London, by Giorgio Borruso Design are the UK entries shortlisted for the ‘most innovative format of the year’ award.



Selfridges in London is competing to win ‘retail destination of the year’.




The three-day long retail conference will see Fitch chief creative director Tim Greenhalgh join JHP Design managing director Stephen Collis and US-based consultancy FRCH Design Worldwide’s chief creative officer Paul Lechleiter for a session on creating immersive store environments.



Interbrand will give a presentation on retail brand strategies, with Europe chief executive Jean-Baptiste Danet and European practice leader in analytics Josh Feldmeth.



WPP is sending David Roth, chief executive of its retail marketing practice The Store, to present highlights from the six ‘marketing campaigns of the year’ finalists for the World Retail Awards.



The World Retail Congress takes place at the Centro de Convenciones Internacionales de Barcelona, from 9-11 April.
