Manchester-based consultancy Appleby Bowers has created a logo, website and print materials for the Alliance of Sector Skills Councils.

Appleby Bowers won a five-way pitch to scoop the contract. The ASSC briefed the branding and design group to create a logo, a suite of marketing materials including exhibition stands, literature, stationery and signage, as well as a website.

The design group claims to have developed about 20 possible corporate identities after it won the contract. These were whittled down to four before the final logo was developed.

Appleby Bowers’ work constitutes the organisation’s first design and branding work since its recent formation to unite all 25 UK sector skills councils. The Government-funded skills councils aim to reduce skills gaps and improve productivity in UK businesses.

The ASSC will roll out print materials over the next three weeks, having launched the website at the end of last week.
