Cath Kidston up for business woman of the year award

Fashion and textiles designer Cath Kidston has been nominated the the Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of the Year Award 2009.



Kidston, who is creative director and founder of her eponymous firm, is one of five finalists for the award.



She is up against Gail Rebuck, chief executive of publisher The Random House Group; Harriet Green, chief executive of electronics firm Premier Farnell; Kate Bleasdale, vice-chairman of Healthcare Locums; and Ruby McGregor Smith, chief executive of strategic outsourcing company Mitie Group.



The winner of the award, which is in its 36th year, will be presented with a case of Veuve Clicquot vintage La Grande Dame, and will also have a vine named after her at the champagne house’s Reims vineyard.



The winner will be announced tomorrow night at the Saatchi Gallery in London.
