Eco Graphics creates logo for housing association

Eco Graphics has designed a new identity for Spitalfields Housing Association and a campaign that will aim to serve and improve Bangladeshi communities.

The consultancy approached the housing association speculatively in August 2009 and conducted a series of workshops, which led to a full rebrand being sanctioned.

‘As they predominantly serve the Bangladeshi community, we’ve depicted the locality of the area with the Spitalfields skyline,’ says Ting Lam Tang, associate at the consultancy.

Orange and purple are colours ‘of the Bangladeshi culture’, adds Tang, who has included English and Bengali typography in the marque.

The identity and associated branding will roll out across 18 service standard leaflets, a community development booklet, window displays and office graphics, starting next week.

Eco Graphics is now discussing designing a new website for the association.

I really like the heavy saturation of this identity, addsa richness. Whilst the Bengali type used for this particular client (who sits within the community) is a great example of London’s unique breed of multi-culturalism expressed through design.

One question – what is Eco Graphic’s website? Google doesn’t seem to be doing them any favours.
