Here’s a first look at some early impressions of Wayne Hemingway’s Vintage at Goodwood festival.

The decade-hopping event will look to celebrate all that is great about British design, music and culture from the 1940s -1980s.

Each area has been designed by Morag Myerscough and Hemingway’s wife Gerardine Hemingway.

In last week’s issue of Design Week, Wayne Hemingway told us,  ‘The whole thing is more about design and re-creation than nostalgia.’ A Now area comprising design and music inspired by its cultural lineage and a Future vintage area pinpointing future vintage design classics will also feature.

Coming on like a Marty McFly spacetime continuum, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Tiki Tent and Lanes Café will chart rock n roll from the 1950s to the present day.

Casino Club – which may be called the Soul Casino – will pay homage to the 1970s and is partly based on Wigan Casino according to Hemingway. 

The 1980s Warehouse stage is likely to differ slightly from this CGI owing to its composition of recycled materials salvaged from Goodwood Festival of Speed.
