Transmission looks ahead to life in 2050

Graphic design group Transmission is curating a contemporary art exhibition looking at what life might be like in 2050.

Life in 2050, which opens today at London’s Proud Central Gallery, was conceived as part of the Sci-Fi-London film festival.

Transmission has commissioned work by 21 designers, photographers and illustrators including Universal Everything, Alex Trochut, Mario Hugo, Jason Tozer, Graham Carter, Kerry Roper, Unlimited and Dan McPharlin (work pictured). Transmission is also contributing an artwork.

Transmission founder Stuart Tolley says, ‘I think every piece will be a real conversation-starter for the viewer.’

Animation studio Future Deluxe has created a cinema trailer to promote the exhibition and the film festival, while Warp Records is providing a soundtrack for the show.

Life in 2050 runs until 4 May. Sci-Fi-London runs from 28 April to 3 May.
