UK submissions down in European Design Awards

The number of UK entries to the European Design Awards is down, from 48 last year to 38 in 2010, with 11 entries shortlisted.

Haas Design has been shortlisted in the company logo category for its work for Su’s Ceramics. Taxi Studio is shortlisted in the brand implementation category for its project for Willie’s World Class Cacao, and is also shortlisted in the packaging food and beverage category for its work for Willie’s Supreme and Delectable Cacao.

Johnston Works has been shortlisted in the magazine category for its work for Brunswick Review, and SVI Design is shortlisted in the packaging miscellaneous category for its work on the Ivanic I Sinovi Packaging System.

Turner Duckworth is shortlisted in the packaging miscellaneous category for its Grow Your Own work, and also in the printed self-promotion category for its Turner Duckworth Holiday Card 2009.

Monotype Imaging is shortlisted twice in the original typeface category, for the Custom Typeface, and the Custom Headline Type Family.

This is Tomorrow is shortlisted in the poster series category for its Typeface Classification Posters, and Holmes Wood in the signs and displays category for Internal and External Environmental Graphics.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, on 30 May.
