Thinking and drinking

Hendrick’s Gin have found their perfect partner in a brand hook-up with Hackney-based shop of curiosities and purveyors of quirk The Last Tuesday.

For their latest collaboration, the two eccentric companies have put on a series of lectures, which begin tomorrow, based at the society’s London headquarters on London’s Mare Street.

From the relatively straightforward (a mask-making workshop on 27 April) to the seriously intriguing (a talk entitled Billionaires, Buddhists and the Sex Life of Peacocks the following evening), the lectures will surely satisfy the growing set of London-based, Victoriana-obsessed Machiavellis that Hendrick’s will want to sway out of their Tesco Value gin-drinking ways. Creative types will particularly enjoy the life-drawing – or death-drawing if you prefer to sketch some taxidermy – and lecture ’The Iconography of the Skull in Art and Design’ with aptly-named expert Jane Angela Arte.

The Hendrick’s Lecture Series with the Last Tuesday Society runs from 19 April to 17 July at 11 Mare Street, London E8. For the complete programme click here.
