Published by Creative England, the book is a collection of articles from creative experts across the South West – from the more established to smaller start-ups.
Aardman co-founder Dave Sproxton discusses how ‘ideas are the new craft’, while Spencer Buck of Taxi Studios talks about how to promote your work – referencing his consultancy’s recent Clifton Troll Bridge stunt.
The book is designed by Bristol-based Fiasco Design, who commissioned a series of designers and illustrators from across the South West to create works. Melbs, Ginger Monkey, Slumber Bean and Jam Factory are among those who have contributed.
Ben Steers, creative director at Fiasco Design, says, ‘We set out a brief which gave each designer an extract from one selected article to work from. We also set out a limited colour palette in order to keep a consistency throughout the book. We then went out and contacted the illustrators/designers we wanted to work with.’
One Thing I Know is limited to a run of 2000 and free to order from www.onethingiknow.co.uk, where all the articles are also available in digital format.
