Jim Prior to head up The Partners and Lambie-Nairn in new combined role

Jim Prior, chief executive at The Partners, is taking on a new combined role that sees him also made chief executive at fellow WPP consultancy Lambie-Nairn.

Prior will replace current Lambie-Nairn chief executive Christian Schroeder, who is being made WPP client leader for British American Tobacco.

A WPP statement says Prior ‘will manage both agencies as distinct businesses and both will continue to serve their clients as separate brands’.

Prior says, ‘It has been my great privilege to play a part in The Partners’ success of the last 13 years and I look forward to continuing that journey. The opportunity now to take a similar course with Lambie-Nairn is hugely exciting.’

Prior’s appointment to the joint The Partners/Lambie-Nairn role follows the appointment of Brand Union chief executive Simon Bolton to a joint Brand Union/Fitch chief executive role last year.

Bolton replaced former Fitch chief executive Lois Jacobs, who moved to Landor. WPP said of his role that he would be ‘exploring opportunities for shared learning and collaboration at the highest level, and delivering an even more highly sophisticated proposition for current and prospective clients’ across both consultancies.’
