HMKM has designed a website for boutique hotel chain Firmdale Hotels.
Firmdale owns seven hotels, including London’s Haymarket Hotel, Soho Hotel and Charlotte Street Hotel. HMKM was appointed in November on its credentials, having worked with Firmdale for ten years.
Most recently, the design group created the brand identity for Haymarket Hotel. The hotel’s mannequin logo was launched at the end of May.
For the website, Firmdale briefed HMKM to project an image of individuality and bespoke craftsmanship, and to allow them to change content themselves.
The introduction page features samples of the fabrics and wallpapers used in the hotels. Customers can place their reservation at any point in the Web journey.
‘The website has a real crafted quality about it, and we tried to inject as much style and glamour into it as possible,’ says business development manager Edwina Campbell. ‘Firmdale wanted to manage their own content since there are areas of the website that change quite regularly. CMS-ran sites can often be quite clunky, which we had to avoid. The site is almost impossible to get lost in.’
HMKM worked with regular partner Naish Creative Imaging to design the website’s back office.
It is currently working on the Haymarket Hotel brochure and corporate literature.
