Lippa creates medal for fifth LDF birthday

The London Design Festival is to award a medal, designed by Pentagram partner Domenic Lippa, to an outstanding member of the design community.

The London Design Medal has been launched this year to mark the fifth LDF and aims to acknowledge the depth of design talent in the UK.

John Sorrell, chair of judges for the medal, says, ‘The Festival has helped establish and consolidate London’s position as the design capital of the world. London is a design hub highly regarded for design talent and skill – this should be acknowledged and celebrated.’

Festival partners made nominations giving reasons for their candidate to receive the medal. The jury then voted on who should receive the medal. The winning candidate will be revealed at the opening ceremony of the LDF on 17 September.
