NE6 Design is creating a high street retail brand for photographic lab Leach Colour. The first Era photographic studio opens in Wilmslow near Manchester on 18 September. Leach hopes to develop the brand into a UK-wide chain, for which the Wilmslow store will provide the blueprint.
Since NE6’s appointment in April following a three-way creative unpaid pitch, the Newcastle-based agency has designed the shop facia, signage, literature, brand identity and company name. NE6 brought Scottish design group Cubit on board to create the studio interior.
‘The brief was to create a name and concept that would project an image of timelessness, as well as to create a retail space that had a certain purity to it, and a relaxing studio experience,’ says NE6 director David Coates.
‘The name Era Studios evokes the timeless nature of portrait photography and the capturing of a single moment in time,’ he adds.
