I have to say I don’t see a massive similarity between the Johnsons Juice and Belazu olive oil labels. They use the same idea, but it is not improbable for two designers to come up, independently, with the same solution.

I have to say I don’t see a massive similarity between the Johnsons Juice and Belazu olive oil labels (DW 9 August). They use the same idea, but it is not improbable for two designers to come up, independently, with the same solution.


Last month, the same thing happened to me, after designing a new logo. I know that the other designer could not have seen my designs – we just came up with the same solution, and probably a lot of others could send in the same logo that they have designed.


We do like to think we are incredibly original, but when you think of all those ‘spurious swoosh logos’ that Marksteen Adamson talks of, maybe we need to think again.
