Eurobest honours design

Advertising industry awards body Eurobest is launching a design category at this year’s event, for the first time in its 20-year history.

The Eurobest Design Award is intended to recognise European design work, largely within the disciplines of branding, packaging and environmental design.

There are nine sub-categories in the award, including branding, posters, flyers and cards, calendars, stationery, publications, point-of-sale, broadcast and digital design.

Besides consumer-facing work, consultancies can also enter marketing materials created to promote themselves.

As in the advertising categories, entrants will be eligible to win the grand prix as well as gold, silver and bronze awards.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Stockholm on the final evening of the inaugural Eurobest Advertising Festival, which runs from 1-3 December at the Berns Salonger in Stockholm.

The Eurobest awards launched in 1988, and are organised by the team behind the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival.

The competition opens on 28 August, and the deadline for entries is on 26 September.
