Glengoyne Distillery is relaunching its website in a bid to develop an interactive online community for enthusiasts of the whisky.

Web design and development group Greenparka is behind the redesign of gleygoyne.com, said to be worth around £5000.

This, the latest project between Greenparka and Glengoyne’s parent company Ian Macleod Distillers, went live on Tuesday in line with the brand’s 175th anniversary.

The new site has a YouTube section, for people to post their visits to the distillery, an Ask the Distillery section, for drinkers to learn more about the drink. and a Range Tasting Notes page for people to pass comment on the drink.

Charlie Cutler, head of digital at Greenparka, says, ‘Part of the brief was to get their audience involved, so they could talk about the taste, the smell and the texture of the product. Many of them are very passionate and we’ve tried to reflect this with the detail on the site.’

Ian Weir, director of marketing at Ian Macleod Distillers, adds, ‘Greenparka has been working on our sites since 2003, they’re part of the Graphic Partners group we use.’
