Dott Cornwall is looking for designers

Designs of the Time Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly is seeking senior design producers to lead Dott projects.

Dott programme director Andrea Siodmok says four design producers are being sought to join a roster that is currently six-strong.

The roster includes Deborah Szebeko of Think Public, Martin Bontoft, formerly of Ideo, Bas Raijmakers from Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands, and Cornish consultancy The Sea.

Siodmok says successful candidates will have to have a good knowledge of sustainability, inclusive design and service design. She adds, ‘We want to build a small, highly capable network of individuals who share Dott’s public-service ethos and like working in an open, collaborative way.’

Dott is also seeking designers to join its designers’ panel, which is currently 24-strong. Siodmok says there are an ‘unlimited’ number of places available on this panel, adding, ‘I want to make sure that everyone who wants to work on Dott projects has a chance to.’

Dott projects currently under way include a skills project to help older people get back into work, and an eco-design challenge to help Year 8 Pupils reduce their schools’ carbon footprints.

The deadline for applications to both rosters is 27 August, and appointments will be made on 2 September.
