Myerson and Pearson Lloyd at Vienna Design Week

This year’s Vienna Design Week will feature Helen Hamlyn Centre director Jeremy Myerson and UK designers Pearson Lloyd and Thomas Bene on its bill.

All three will be talking about product development and the overlap between research, design and industrial processes.

Pieces by UK product and furniture designer Michael Young will get a European showing for the first time at the Designfunktion event – they have only been exhibited in China up until now.

The programme will also include two installations commissioned by Swarovski Crystal Palace from designer Arik Levy. Chaton Superstructures, to be displayed in front of the Lichtenstein Museum, looks at the relationship between architecture, space and object. TableScape Jewellery, meanwhile, will be shown at Sotheby’s Vienna and explores notions of opaqueness and transparency.

The event takes place from 1-11 October across a host of venues in Vienna.
