Sony Design Centre Europe announces new director

Kawagoi joined Sony in the early 1990s, and created the Sony Ericsson logo. He is moving to the UK-based role with the remit of establishing design leadership in consumer electronics.

He says, ‘We have a rich design heritage at Sony, including strong branding and product designs.

‘At DCE we will strive to build on this heritage and deliver strong and creative results for our customers to enjoy the beauty and juxtaposition of both our technology and our aesthetic design.’

Kawagoi replaces former DCE director Fumitaka Kikutani.
