The Interiors Group shapes the Ark for Open TV

The Interiors Group is redesigning the ninth floor of Ralph Erskine’s Ark office building in west London, which has remained derelict for almost ten years.

The interiors specialist was appointed by future tenant Open TV via CB Richard Ellis, a commercial property services advisor, in April following a competitive pitch.

Given just eight weeks to design the space, the consultancy was tasked with making the 650m2 area fit for Open TV, an international company that provides convergent media solutions.

Located on the A4 Westway in Hammersmith, the building is intended to reference the biblical ark in its shape.

Barry Anderson, operations director at The Interiors Group says, ‘This is the challenge. The ninth floor is ark-shaped, like the helm of a ship. There’s also lighting, timber finishing and different ceiling levels to think about. It will have to retain some of this existing feel.’

The new office is set to open in early September.
