Clocking out

At the beginning of the month we gave you a sneak preview of the Shift-Work project which aimed to redevelop the space under Westway on London’s Portobello Road.

Last week, some of street art’s top names, including Pure Evil, Blek Le Rat, Busk, Ben Eine, each clocked in for creative shifts to cover the Westway’s underbelly in their finest spray paint and paste-ups. As promised last time, here’s a look at the artists at work.

It is hoped that the space, which houses the Art and Design Market every Saturday, will be revived by this unusual exhibition and will be able to host a similar show on an annual basis. In order to raise funds for similar shows, postcards and prints of the work are being sold, as well as a book and DVD later in the year, and are available from the market.

View the work at Westway, Portobello Road, Portobello Green, London W10.
