Emerge announces line-up

Ten graduate graphic designers will have their work displayed at London Underground stations this September, as part of Emerge 2010.

For its second outing, Emerge is briefing its finalists to create one letter or digit each of the words Emerge 2010. The resulting works will be printed as posters and exhibited at Liverpool Street, Bank, Angel, Old Street and Bethnal Green Tube stations.

Pentagram partner Dominic Lippa is assembling a panel of judges to help him judge the winner, which will be announced on 23 September during the London Design Festival.

Besides the exhibition, Emerge’s programme of events includes professional skills workshops at enterprise space The Cube, London E1, which will also host an exhibition of the finalists’ graduate work and the Emerge 2010 posters.

This year’s finalists include Bethan Jones, from Kingston University, Amendine Alessandra of London College of Communication, Ben Cridland of Sheffield Hallam University, Claire Murray of the University of Brighton, Daniel Bartha from Middlesex University (work pictured), Ella Young from Bath Spa University, James O’Connell of Ravensbourne, Mark Walters from Lincoln School of Art & Design and Allan Corbett from Gray’s School of Art.

Emerge runs from 18-26 September.
