Green Hat creates South West Fairtrade website
Bristol-based consultancy Green Hat has created a website for South West Fairtrade, which claims to be the first ever regional Fairtrade website in the UK.
Green Hat started working on the project around a year ago, and was appointed following a pitch, according to founder Andy Degg.
The site, at www.fairtradesouthwest.org.uk, is sponsored by the South West Improvement and Efficiency Partnership and the Co-operative membership, and aims to provide Fairtrade shopping information, good practice ideas and news and events from around the region.
It marks a collaboration between more then 20 Fairtrade Town groups and more than 600 Fairtrade business in the South West. The website includes features such as a mapping function, to find Fairtrade suppliers.
Degg says, ‘We see this launch really as a starting point. The success of a site like this is really down to members engaging with it.’
