It’s a dogs life
Dogs in jumpers, dogs doing acrobatics and (rather bizarrely) dogs in giant teacups. As you may be able to gather from the book’s title, A Pack of Dogs – An Anthology, is not one for canine phobes.
The book brings together writing by authors including Peter Ackroyd, Virginia Woolf and JM Coetzee, all on the subject of dogs – ranging from stories of the bond between people and their pets and more dramatic depictions of the savage character of dogs.
Illustrator Christopher Brown has created a series of linocuts to illustrate the tales, which depict dogs of all shapes and sizes in a range of lifelike and more fantastical situations.
A Pack of Dogs, compiled by Lucy Smith, is published by Merrell in October priced £17.95.
