New Mind works on Fort William and Lochaber website

Liverpool-based new media consultancy New Mind had been appointed to create a new website to promote Fort William and Lochaber in the Highlands of Scotland.

New Mind was appointed by Outdoor Capital of the UK and the Destination Management Organisation for Fort William and Lochaber on the strength of previous e-tourism projects for Liverpool, Brighton and Bath, says OCUK project officer Teresa de Billot. She says the OCUK was particularly impressed with New Mind’s itinerary planning and interactive mapping functionality.

The consultancy has been briefed to create a site that promotes Fort William and Lochaber as a prime area to experience the outdoors as well as acting as a ‘one-stop shop’ for prospective visitors, says de Billot.

The website will contain motivational content and photography to inspire visitors, as well as planning tools and information about local businesses. It is hoped that the website will generate revenue for the area’s tourism businesses and OCUK members.

De Billot says, ‘The destination websites New Mind have created, including Visitliverpool.com, Visitbrighton.com and Visitbath.co.uk, are among the highest-performing sites of their kind, both in terms of visitor numbers and income generation, and we are looking forward to seeing the finished product for the OCUK.’
