Prospect works on Design Business Association online directory

The Design Business Association is preparing to launch its online database of design groups on a website designed by Prospect, which will also revamp the DBA’s main website.

Prospect won the contract to design the DBA’s upcoming directory and overhaul the main site following a three-way credentials pitch between DBA member consultancies. The directory will aim to simplify and speed up the pitch process by offering clients a selection of DBA registered design groups in a searchable directory (DW 3 March).

’We were looking for a group with strong examples of e-user-centred Web development,’ says DBA development director Adam Fennelow. The database will feature illustrated case studies and other information required by clients during the first stages of the tender process.

Each consultancy will have a homepage and several tabs leading to case studies, company profiles, governance and people information. ’The creative challenge is that the site has a complex user journey because there is so much information on the database,’ says Prospect client
services director Frederic Van Camp.

The look of the directory will follow that of the current DBA website, although once the organisation’s new website has been designed, the database’s look will be revisited, according to Prospect strategic director Richard Eisermann. ’We will be able to do something really exciting with the look of the new DBA website,’ he says.

The DBA membership is funding the directory, having raised about £150 000 so far. The directory is due to go live in October, while the DBA website will launch next year.
