Vonsung designs pop-up restaurant for Tent London

London-based design consultancy Vonsung has designed a pop-up restaurant and bar pavilion for Tent London.

Vonsung was appointed in May following a credentials-led pitch, according to the consultancy’s creative director Joseph Sung.

The pavilion, which will be located at the Tent London design show site at the Truman Brewery in east London from 23-26 September, has been designed to include spaces for tired visitors to rest and for business transactions resulting from the exhibitions to be discussed.

Vonsung was briefed to create a structure that would act as a ‘building within a building’ and would accommodate all the functionality of a working bar and restaurant, says Sung.

The space uses materials loaned from existing project sites and features contrasting hard and soft materials and a wave-like sky-lit roof.

The floor and ceiling elements have been made from woven vinyl and the walls from grey Valchromat wool. The central dining area will include Modus chairs and Person Lloyd’s Peggy table series.
