It was appointed in March 2011 having been approached by the Rug Company to present a creative pitch alongside a ‘small number of other agencies’, according to the consultancy.
The project involves designing a new website for the company, which will feature its first e-commerce store.
James Burke, project manager at the Other Media, says, ‘We need to design something beautiful that fits in with the brand, and allows customers all over the world to view the rugs online and purchase through the website.
‘It’ll be very image-led – the rugs and beautiful quality to they’re shot in amazing locations. The images are superb so it’ll be very image led to ensure the products are displayed well.’
Burke says the site will use the Rug Company’s existing identity and brand colours. He adds they will also be adding a ‘wish-list’ facility that allows customers to create lists of rugs they like.
George Crabb, the Other Media managing director, says, ‘Our team is now examining ways to not only increase visitor numbers to the site but also significantly enhance the visitor experience overall.’
It is hoped the site will launch in autumn 2011.
