Felt Mistress’s Glorious Flock
Character creator Felt Mistress (aka Louise Evans) is bringing her collection of creatures to the walls of the Sage Gateshead gallery for a new show.
The Glorious Flock will showcase more than 30 of Felt Mistress’s creations – from lifestyle gurus to heavy metal rockers – as well as original sketches and watercolour paintings.
The exhibition will also show Felt Mistress’s work on Gruff Rhys’s recent album American Interior.
Working with illustrator Pete Fowler, she created a representation of the album’s protagonist John Evans, an 18th-century pioneer in the exploration of the United States.
Felt Mistress says, ‘We are delighted to be exhibiting in the North East for the first time… The North East already fizzes with poets, rockers, boffins, gurus and furry and finned fashionistas. So I’m sure The Glorious Flock will feel right at home.’
The Glorious Flock runs until 23 September 23at Sage Gateshead, St Mary’s Square, Gateshead Quays, Gateshead NE8.
