Couch is a former creative director and managing director of Figtree and left following Figtree’s sale to Prophet at the end of 2012.

Subsequently, Couch founded Deskcamping, an initiative that helps freelancers and startups find affordable desk-space in London, New York and Berlin.

Couch says, ‘I’m very excited to be part of a great team in London and New York. There’s a commitment to working with interesting clients and doing great work.

‘We have the advantage of being a design studio within a wider agency, able to draw on all the talent and experience across Mother.’

Mother Design operates from bases in London and New York. Earlier this year it was appointed by the Barbican to work on the graphics and marketing creative for the Digital Revolution exhibition.

Mother Design has also appointed Daniel Söderstedt, formerly of New York studio 2×4, as design director in its New York office.
