These mixed media portraits feature more realism than the airbrushed photography of famous folk we’re used to.
Some People is a set of ten works, capturing sitters including Nicole Kidman, Dennis Hopper, and Erin O’Conor.
In recent exhibitions Yeo has used paint and collage to interrogate contemporary perceptions of beauty, plastic surgery and pornography.
Now though he brings together some of his most famous sitters, revealing the processes of photographs, etchings and hand finished inkjet prints which go into the works.
Original paintings and sketches will be printed alongside the finished pieces, revealing technique and the steps toward composition.
As well as this lot Yeo’s other sitters include various dignitaries and politicians and he’s exhibited widely in the UK across Europe and in the US.
He’s exhibited in the National Portrait gallery and this show is a precursor to a 2013 solo exhibition at The National Portrait Gallery.
Some People by Jonathan Yeo will be exhibited at Eleven, on 11 Eccleston Street, SW1, from 16 November – 8 December.
