The Design Commission for Wales hosted a summit in Cardiff yesterday to promote good practice and sustainable design across the industry.
It marked the first time UK representatives from industry bodies the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment, Architecture and Design Scotland and senior officials from the Northern Ireland Office met in Wales to establish a platform to focus on design. The day-long event was run by the Design Commission for Wales chief executive Carole-Anne Davies and chairman Alan Francis.
The Design Commission for Wales also launched its publication, Design Review in Wales, at the event. The book reviews 18 projects and holds key messages about sustainable design and how it can best be used to deliver long- term social and economic benefits.
The Design Commission for Wales was founded by the Welsh Assembly.
