Tommy Hilfiger has opened its first standalone store in the UK – a 500m2 flagship in London’s Regent Street – designed by RPA Vision.

The shop features men’s and women’s sportswear and tailored ranges on the ground floor and a casual space downstairs for the Hilfiger denim brand.

According to RPA Vision design director Nigel Collett, the store features a mix of modern design and vintage furniture, with American oak flooring, antique pharmaceutical counters as cash desks and a contemporary wrought iron and oak central staircase.

‘There’s an emphasis on local relevance in the design,’ says Collett. ‘In London this means a marriage between the classical Regency style of the store and the brand personality.’

The group will also create the designer’s London offices and wholesale showrooms, which will be located in the same Regent Street building and open in January. Collett says the space will be a ‘New York-style loft’ with screed floors and exposed brickwork.

RPA Vision has been working with Hilfiger for almost two years and has also designed retail stores in Paris, Florence and Düsseldorf.
