Olympics post not confirmed

The anticipated selection of Ricky Burdett as principal design advisor to the Olympic Delivery Authority is yet to be agreed, despite press reports of the appointment last week.

According to a spokeswoman for the ODA, discussions are ‘underway’ with Burdett but no contract has been put in place, although there are no other figures in the running for the post.

Burdett is Centennial Professor in Architecture and Urbanism at the London School of Economics and an architecture advisor to Mayor of London Ken Livingstone. It is understood that he will be seconded from his role as a member of the Greater London Authority’s Architecture and Urbanism Unit if he takes up the Olympics post.
