Hong Kong design show kicks off

The Business of Design Week exhibition opens in Hong Kong today, expected to attract 10 000 visitors.

The five-day conference and exhibition programme kicks off with technology design show Inno Asia, focusing on sustainability and technological innovation in lifestyle products, architecture and vehicles.

Tom Dixon, Zaha Hadid and Marc Newson are scheduled to speak at the BODW forum, taking place on Wednesday 12 December.

Tomorrow, the Brand Asia conference will explore aspects of brand management, while the 9707 symposium will seek to explore how ten Hong Kong brands collaborated with ten designers this year to mark the tenth anniversary of Hong Kong’s reunification with China.

The BODW programme also includes trade show Inno Design Tech Expo, which will display work from the 9707 initiative. It will also feature examples of Italian design and winners of the Hong Kong Design Centre award, which takes place on Wednesday 12 December.

BODW ends on Saturday 15 December.
