Design Nation seeks new talent

Design Nation is seeking work by furniture, interior and other designers to showcase on its website, which promotes British design to potential buyers.

The current recruitment drive is intended to swell the site’s portfolio of 130 British designers, which currently includes Heatherwick Studio and Cressida Bell.

Lighting, surface, interior and exterior, glassware, ceramics, metalwork, textiles and jewellery designers are all invited to enter their work for possible inclusion.

Designers should submit four to six examples of their work as well as a CV to the organisation’s judging panel. If selected, applicants pay an annual subscription of £120.

The website targets manufacturers, retailers and architects, as well as the general public.

The late design champion Peta Levy, who died in April, founded Design Nation in 1999. The not-for-profit organisation became part of London Metropolitan University in 2005.

The deadline for entries is 16 February. For more details, e-mail selection2009@designnation.co.uk.
