Leicestershire consultancies are booked up

Leicestershire-based design groups are being asked to contribute to a book promoting the area’s credentials to potential design buyers.

Loughborough University, Atkinson Design Associates and Briggs Hillier are leading the Design Leicestershire project, which has attracted £260 000 in funding from UK Trade & Investment and local development agencies.

The 300-page book is intended to feature work from some of the estimated 780 design groups based in Leicestershire and Rutland.

UKTI will distribute about 2000 copies of the book overseas, while it will also appear at trade exhibitions in the UK.

Submissions are invited from 15 design disciplines, including graphic, product, packaging, exhibition, retail, packaging, display and digital design.

Consultancies interested in contributing to the book can register at www.designleicestershire.com by 5 December.

The book follows on the heels of Bristol’s directory, 0117 – Made in Bristol, which launches on 4 December and is intended to help Bristol-based groups compete with London consultancies.
