Playgroup has created the interior branding for Unilever’s new UK headquarters in Leatherhead, Surrey.
Gemma Monk-Hartley, who managed the project for Playgroup, says the consultancy was directly appointed to the job at the end of March. Playgroup had previously branded the Unilever global HQ in Blackfriars, London, in 2007.
Playgroup was also appointed to work on all the wayfinding signage, and assisted in the named and branding of certain areas of the Leatherhead building, which opened at the end of November.
The consultancy was briefed to create an environment that would engage customers and suppliers, and that staff would enjoy.
According to Playgroup, the overall look and feel of the building is neutral/fresh, with colour and vibrancy brought into the space through an overt expression of Unilever’s brands.
In the atrium, a 12m-high mosaic wraps the central lift core with 184 images and the supporting message ‘we are Unilever’.
