Royal Navy seeks digital group

The Royal Navy is seeking a digital group to redesign its website and take care of its online communications strategy.

The Central Office of Information has invited six groups to tender for the contract, with pitches expected to take place in February.

A statement released by the COI states that the Royal Navy is seeking a ‘new look and feel’ for its website, ‘within existing brand guidelines’. The winning consultancy will also be tasked with procuring and implementing a new content management system.

The successful group will also work alongside the COI’s interactive services team on Royal Navy recruitment marketing. This will include the use of mobile phone- and social media-based marketing.

The COI says, ‘In the next two years the Navy will be relaunching its corporate site, and is committed to exploring its use of the semantic Web, e-mail, mobile and various social media channels that are key to its audiences. As such, the COI is committed to helping it appoint the right full-service agency to meet these digital requirements.’
