Vicky Richardson to head design for British Council

Blueprint editor Vicky Richardson is set to join the British Council as director of architecture, design and fashion.

Richardson will join in March, and take over from Catherine Ince and Alison Moloney, who have been acting co-directors of the team since Emily Campbell’s departure in October 2008.

Campbell, who was head of design and architecture, left to join the Royal Society of Arts as director of design.

Richardson, who has been at Blueprint for nearly six years, says, ‘It’s such an exciting role. On the one hand there is the opportunity to showcase what is best about design and architecture in Britain, and the other side is looking around the world at the exciting work happening there.’

The role of editor at Blueprint will be advertised in due course.
