Civic works on Scottish Government website

Digital consultancy Civic has been appointed to redesign Scotland.gov.uk, the Scottish Government’s corporate website.

The consultancy was selected for the work after being appointed to the Central Government Centre of Procurement Expertise Framework for the Provision of Applications, Web Development and Associated Services. It was briefed to work on the website at the beginning of November, according to head of design Will Price.

The consultancy says the work will focus on bringing the homepage and news section of the website up to date with emerging communications methods. Civic will focus on the use of social media and video elements.

Price says, ‘We will be aiming to introduce lots of features to make the site more dynamic.’

Civic managing director Greig Tosh says, ‘This is a great opportunity to cement Scotland.gov.uk’s reputation as a world-class government website, by creating the best possible user experience.’

The site – at www.scotland.gov.uk – is set to launch in the first six months of next year.
